Antique French 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Egg Pendant

Finest quality antique French Egg charm.

The attention to detail and craftsmanship are simply superb. The egg is set all over with tiny rubies and rose cut diamonds. Despite their tiny size, the rose cut diamonds have been set into a white metal surround to enhance their sparkle, attesting to the skill of the goldsmith and supreme quality of the pendant.

The charm is marked on the bale with the French eagle stamp for 18ct gold as well as the maker’s mark believed to read P.F

There are a couple of dents in the egg but this does not detract from its beauty in the slightest.

Good antique egg charms are very scarce and this is a particularly lovely example which would make a fine addition to any antique jewellery collection and looks fabulous on a chain by itself or as part of a neckmess.
