Georgian ‘Forget-me-not’ Heart Locket

This is quite possibly the sweetest, and possibly the earliest, heart locket we have ever found. Clearly much loved and a long way from perfect, it is nevertheless incredibly special, with a perfect front that remains sensational. Across the heart, electric blue enamel on silver forms the backdrop for a white enamel banner reading “Forget Me Not”, a touching sentiment beautifully preserved despite its age. The locket’s interior is 9ct rose gold. 

The “Forget Me Not” motif carries particular poignancy, a phrase long associated with lasting affection and cherished memory, making this piece as emotionally rich as it is visually striking.
