Georgian 9ct Rose Gold Carved Carnelian Intaglio Ring

A rare and remarkable Georgian ring, crafted in 9ct rose gold and centred with a deeply carved carnelian intaglio depicting a Neo-Classical maritime scene with cherubs. A particularly beautiful and unusual example, with exceptional presence and the distinctive character of Georgian jewellery.

Carnelian intaglios were highly prized during the Georgian period, often incorporating Classical and Neo-Classical imagery inspired by the art and mythology of antiquity.
