Antique Georgian Emerald Five Stone Ring

An ultra-rare and highly impressive antique Georgian emerald five-stone ring, remarkable for both its beauty and condition. Five vivid emeralds are set into an ornate 18ct yellow gold closed back setting, with fine attention to detail throughout. The stones are foiled, giving them their distinctive Georgian glow and allowing the emeralds to display rich, vibrant green hues that feel full of life and depth.

The ring has a subtly oval-shaped top, thoughtfully designed to sit perfectly on the finger and keep the stones beautifully aligned when worn. It appears to have been hardly worn, if at all, with exceptionally minimal wear to the emeralds and a setting that remains close to mint for its age. There is some evidence of a possible historic resize, and one emerald shows a slightly darker area at one corner where a small gap between stone and setting has allowed the foil to discolour over time, a common and honest feature in Georgian jewellery.

The gold is not hallmarked, as was typical of the period, but has been professionally tested as 18ct gold. A truly exceptional and increasingly scarce Georgian ring of outstanding quality.
