A rare and beautiful French antique sewing case dating from the Georgian period, inscribed ‘Souvenir d’Amitié’, meaning ‘Remembrance of Friendship’, in finely crafted gold lettering. The case is made from high-quality shagreen and features oval glass-fronted panels with delicately hand-painted scenes, each framed by intricate gold surrounds. Although the interior is now incomplete, retaining only the original scissors, the piece remains a highly desirable collector’s item. The inscription beneath suggests it once belonged to a lady, adding to its personal and romantic history.
