This ultra cute antique locket dates from the Georgian to early Victorian period and features exquisite repousse work across both sides, giving it wonderful depth and detail. Crafted in gold, it opens and closes securely and is marked “9C” along with the maker’s mark B.B. The lovely detailing throughout makes this a particularly charming example of the period’s craftsmanship. Double-sided lockets with repousse decoration were highly regarded during this period, the raised relief technique allowing for intricate, sculptural designs that showcased the skill of the goldsmith.
