Victorian Blue Enamel Heart Padlock with Glass Compartment

This sweet Victorian heart padlock is set to the front with a tiny seed pearl flower against an enamelled blue ground, adding a delicate touch of colour and detail to its charming form. To the reverse sits a glass-fronted compartment in silver and low carat yellow gold, a lovely feature typical of sentimental Victorian jewellery, while the clasp opens and closes securely. It has clearly been much loved in its time and repaired on many occasions, and while the glass will need further securing, it still has much life left to live.
