Victorian Silver 1878 Mizpah Ring
A rare antique Victorian silver Mizpah ring, rich in sentiment and beautifully preserved. Mizpah jewellery emerged in the Victorian era as a powerful symbol of love and connection, taken from the biblical phrase meaning ‘The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another’. Such rings were often exchanged between loved ones separated by distance, making them deeply personal tokens of affection, remembrance, or promise.
This example is fully hallmarked for 1878 and bears a clear maker’s mark, firmly placing it within the height of Victorian sentimental jewellery. Simple yet meaningful, it is a wonderful survivor of the period.
